From the N2 (16km from Sedgefield and 1.5km from Knysna lagoon bridge):
- Turn north onto the Rheenendal road and follow for 11.5km.
- Just past the Rheenendal Petrol Station and Totties Eatery, turn right at the Bibby's Hoek sign.
- It becomes a dirt road (quite passible even by small cars) - follow it for 2.3km.
- Turn left at the intersection (Stop sign) and continue for 1.4km; slow down to enjoy the interesting homes, famous people or animals you may encounter along our forest road.
- Forest Edge is the last property on this road: tranquility at its best!
From Port Elizabeth to Knysna
(About 270km or 3 hours' drive), the most often used route is on the N2. Rough directions on how to get from Port Elizabeth to Knysna:
- Travel on the N2 (along the Tsitsikamma Mountains) via Humansdorp and the Stormsriver bridge
- Stay on the N2 via Plettenburg Bay (past Robberg) to Knysna

From Cape Town to Knysna
(About 490km or 5-5.5 hours' drive), the most often used route is via the N2 from Cape Town through George. There is an alternate, scenic mountain route called the Route62, which will take longer but is special even for the most well-travelled. Check road conditions with AA Travel though as mountain passes may be closed due to rock falls or flooding. Rough directions on how to get from Cape Town to Knysna:
- From Cape Town take the N2 via Somerset West, Caledon and Swellendam
- Stay on the N2 via Albertinia, Mossel Bay and George
- Stay on the N2 via Wilderness and Sedgefield
