 A natural extension to Cape Town and the Garden Route, and only 80 minutes from Port Elizabeth, this internationally renowned malaria-free “Big-5” private game reserve is set in 10,000 hectares of pristine African wilderness incorporating the picturesque Kariega and Bushmans Rivers.   Kariega offers a combination of “Big-5” and general game viewing and an expansive variety of fauna, flora and birdlife in a landscape that spans across 5 different eco systems offering the most dramatic views and vistas.  The result is very powerful and truly unique to Kariega.

In addition to unforgettable game viewing from open vehicles with qualified game rangers, guests can enjoy a variety of other activities which include guided bush walks, river cruises, canoeing, an overnight bush camp activity, a spa and gym and visits to the nearby beaches of Kenton-on-Sea.   Main Lodge comprises of spacious and comfortable air-conditioned log chalets, all en-suite, with private viewing decks. The lodge and pool are expertly integrated with the surrounding bush. Ukhozi Lodge offers 10 spacious, air-conditioned luxurious suites with private plunge pools and spectacular African-style Lodge and outdoor pool.   River Lodge is a unique lodge built on the banks of the Bushmans River and comprises 10 superbly appointed spacious air-conditioned thatched suites and outdoor pool. The lodge overhangs the river and enjoys spectacular views.  The Homestead is a private lodge with 7 spacious bedrooms (5 en-suite and 2 sharing a bathroom) and is perfect for the sole use of a group or family of up to 14 persons.
